Fake name generator

A complete synthetic profile: a name typical of the country, a local address, date of birth, an e-mail on a reserved test domain, a phone number in the right national shape, and an employer. Use it to fill forms, seed databases and test sign-up flows.

What is in a profile

  • Name. First and family names are drawn from 76 country-specific lists and language-level lists for the rest, in the local script with a Latin version (for example 佐藤 陽菜 / Hina Sato). The two halves are paired at random, so the full name does not describe anyone in particular.
  • Address. Generated the same way as the address generator: the town, region and postcode are real and belong together, while the street and number are synthetic.
  • E-mail. Always on example.com, example.net or example.org. RFC 2606 reserves these for documentation, so mail to them never reaches a real person.
  • Phone. Where a regulator reserves numbers for fiction, the number comes from that range (AS, AI, AG, AU, BS, BB, BM, VG, CA, KY, DM, DO, FR, GD, GU, JM, MS, MP, PR, KN, LC, VC, SX, TT, TC, VI, GB, US, and other countries that share the North American 555-01XX block). Elsewhere you get the national shape, such as +49 15XX XXXXXXX, rather than a number that could ring a real phone. You can fill in the digits, with a clear warning.
  • Date of birth. Chosen within the age range you set, so the age is always correct on the day you generate.
  • Company and job title. A fictional firm with the country’s usual legal form (GmbH, S.A. de C.V., 株式会社…) and an English job title.

What we deliberately leave out

There are no national ID numbers, Social Security numbers, passport numbers or payment card numbers. Testing those needs dedicated tools: payment providers publish test card numbers, and ID formats need their own check digits. Fake identity documents are not something we will help produce.

Common questions

Is this a real person?
No. Every field is generated, and the name, birth date, phone and e-mail are not linked to each other or to anyone real. If a combination matches a real person, it is a coincidence.
Can I use these details to sign up for a service?
Only on systems you own or are allowed to test. Using made-up identities to get around verification, take free trials or mislead people breaks most terms of service and can be fraud. See acceptable use.
Why does the phone number contain X?
Most countries have no official fictional range. Rather than risk a real subscriber’s number, we show the national format with placeholders. In Options you can fill in the digits for format checks.
How do I generate many profiles?
Use the bulk generator for CSV or JSON files, or the test data generator to choose fields and export SQL.
